Desert Creatures

I had forgotten how many creatures live right in our backyard....or, as in the last photo, right in our house.  Here are just a few I captured....

A mama dove....

and her soon to be babies....

Unfortunately, a 20 foot high home wasn't safe enough - the eggs disappeared after a few days....(sigh).

 A tadpole's beautifully decorated home...by Payton. :)

Yeah, this one survived! Introducing...."Mr. frog!"(or Mrs.?) It's taken residency in our neighbor's pond.

Meet our free tenants living underneath our deck! Apparently, javalinas could be dangerous, but these guys didn't look like a threat - they just needed shade! They sure did scare the daylights out of me when I heard a noise and peered under our deck to see what it was!!

It wouldn't be the desert without the dreaded scorpion! ;)

Vanessa...I can't!!! :) Actually, last time we live here I did get stung by one - it hurt when it happened, but it was no worse than any other insect bite.
We miss you and your family...hugs to you all!

EWWWWW! That's terrifying! How do you do it? Have fun in Scorpian land... and than thing under your porch... I would have passed out when I saw that thing!

All your missing is a picture of a rattlesnake and mountain lion then you are officially welcomed in Tucson! I miss that place (but not the scorpions!)

Mrs. Maxwell,
A friend of ours has a blog on blogspot, also, and has been writing about how she can change the ugly grey color in the background... I noticed that you have that figured out. Could you tell me how you do that so I could let her know? Thanks!

Vanessa,

Have her try a different background other that blogspot(I use Cutest Blog on the Block). When I copy and paste a new design, it goes on the side bar where it say "add a gaget." But, if she wants to keep the original template, she should go to the blogspot forum - those people know their stuff. :)
