Happy Birthday, Daddy!

This first picture will explain the "Cautionary Construction Zone" birthday theme. The week before his birthday, he was working on our house (still).  He came in and told me he might need a ride to urgent care because he "hit his finger with a nail!" Well, when I walked around the corner and saw a three inch nail driven all the way through his finger, I quickly realized he wasn't using a hammer - but instead, his nail gun!  I am usually pretty tough, but for some reason this got me. It looked like it should have been a practical joke. But it wasn't. Anyhow, the doctor removed the nail (without a shot to numb it!...because he didn't want a numb finger when he finished his work on the roof! My guy is nuts!) I left our house in too much of a hurry to take a picture....but here's one of the x-ray.

Now, onto the celebration....

The caution tape set the tone for the yellow and black color theme.

The candle holders were found in the sheet metal area at Lowes. :) What was I thinking bringing saw dust  "in" my house. :)

I used washers for napkin rings, and found scrapbooking letters for place settings.

Landon was Al from Home Improvement (pillow for the belly included!).  I was a welder, and Payton was just cute, with her tool belt and safety glasses (which must have been set aside for the picture).

Here's our birthday boy with his requested Tiramisu...and candles that spell out 56! Praise God for that number!

Happy birthday to the best husband and father in the world! We love you more than words can say.
